Dr. Tam Ngo
General DentistDr. Tam Ngo is originally from Sacramento, California. He studied at the College of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Illinois. Dr. Ngo has been practicing dentistry since graduating in 2017. Dr. Ngo provides care for all aspects of dentistry for all ages. He has lived and practiced in Texas for the majority of his career. He emphasizes direct and forward communication with his patients focusing on proper dental health, hygiene, and aesthetics.
In his free time, he enjoys martial arts, watching/playing sports, and looking out for the latest new tech gadgets and latest basketball shoe releases.
Dr. Ayoung Jo
Dr. Ayoung Jo, or “JoJo,” as some may know her, is a caring and compassionate dentist dedicated to providing quality dental care with a gentle touch. Passionate about patient education and oral health, Dr. Jo takes the time to ensure every patient feels comfortable and informed about their treatment options.
Dr. Jo obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas at Dallas. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Texas A&M School of Dentistry, graduating with multiple awards including Comprehensive Dentistry Program Award, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Student Award of Merit, and Excellence Track Awards for Service, Administration and Leadership as well as Research and Scholarly Activity.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and regularly takes continuing education courses to stay up-to-date in the everchanging dental field.
When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Jo enjoys running outdoors, spending time with her friends and family, and trying new cafes and restaurants in the DFW area.
Dr. Paul Shahwan
General DentistDr. Paul Shahwan was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Arlington, he attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
In 2011, he and his wife moved down to New Braunfels bringing with them their three kids – a German Shepherd named Heidi, English Bulldog named Monkey and Great Dane named Wolf. In August 2013, they welcomed their first human child to add to the growing family and, again, added to the pack in 2016. Dr. Shahwan is always looking for ways to get involved in the community and has made a habit of helping Boy Scouts earn their merit badges in Dentistry!
During his downtime, Dr. Shahwan is always looking for a new project. Remodeling projects, building furniture, creating websites…there is always something to occupy his time. It’s probably because he watches the DIY Network too much.
Dr. Marites Del Mundo
OrthodontistDr. Marites Del Mundo (or Dr. D, as she is fondly called by her patients) received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of the Philippines in 1993, where she graduated at the top of her class and received the Most Outstanding Dental Graduate Award, given by the International College of Dentists. In 1996, she completed her two-year orthodontic residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she earned a Certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry.
During her free time, Dr. Del Mundo enjoys reading books and loves spending time with her family. She also loves to travel and watch Broadway musicals.
She is an active member of The American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) and The American Dental Association.
Dr. Todd Whitfield
ExodontistDr. Todd Whitfield grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and always dreamed of becoming a dentist. He pursued his college degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After graduation, he was aggressively recruited by several colleges for dentistry and he selected the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, for its reputation as having one of the finest clinical dentistry programs in the nation. It was there that he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1989.
Dr. Whitfield’s first post-graduate position was working at the United States Public Health Service from 1989-1991. He was very fortunate that oral surgeon Dr. Mark Waller instructed him on complicated tooth extractions, thus advancing his knowledge of oral surgery. Dr. Whitfield opened his private dental practice in 1991. He was blessed with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life, which became a great asset in growing a successful dental practice. After reading an article in Dental Practice Management, Dr. Whitfield implemented the “Win-Win” strategy by bringing other dentists into his practice to offer procedures to his patients. Patients loved staying in their “home office,” surrounded by the staff they trusted. It decreased patients’ stress levels, knowing Dr. Whitfield was nearby to answer any last-minute questions and make sure they got the treatment they needed. The combination of a great bedside manner and all-inclusive services “in-house” quickly led to over 4,000 patients.
Dr. Whitfield constantly advances his dental skills and knowledge. In 2008, he enrolled in the Misch International Implant Institute and completed both the Surgical and Prosthetics Implant Course totaling 175 hours.
After 24 years of private practice and having twins later in life, Dr. Whitfield realized he needed to balance his profession with his family life. He sold his dental practice in 2015. He obtained his IV dental sedation license in 2016 by completing Conscious Sedation Consulting, a comprehensive “mini-residency” with a minimum of 60 hours of didactic/classroom education and direct participation in administering IV sedation to 20-30 clinical dental cases while being observed. He received advanced training in airway management and medical emergencies, totalling approximately 100 hours. In early 2017, Dr. Whitfield gained his IV Portability by meeting all the state dental board’s requirements.
In March of 2016, Dr. Whitfield launched Dental Surgical Solutions. He shares his vision with dentists on how they can increase their business with IV sedation dentistry. Dr. Whitfield and his team operate with the highest level of integrity and are true professionals – they are committed to providing impeccable patient care.
