Dr. Dana Tievsky
General DentistOur office owner and practicing dentist, Dr. Dana Tievsky, was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Bethesda, MD and Plano, TX. Dr. Tievsky received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from the University of Rochester in New York state and a Master of Science in Clinical Research from New York University College of Dentistry. She received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles and earned dean’s list honors.
While in dental school, Dr. Tievsky completed selective pediatric and general dentistry externships at the La Maestra Clinic in San Diego, CA and the St. John’s Well Child and Family Center in Los Angeles, CA, respectively. Dr. Tievsky has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and is committed to providing the highest standard of care to all of her patients.
She is an active member of the Texas Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Tievsky enjoys spending time traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
Dr. Todd Whitfield
ExodontistDr. Todd Whitfield grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and always dreamed of becoming a dentist. He pursued his college degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After graduation, he was aggressively recruited by several colleges for dentistry and he selected the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, for its reputation as having one of the finest clinical dentistry programs in the nation. It was there that he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1989.
Dr. Whitfield’s first post-graduate position was working at the United States Public Health Service from 1989-1991. He was very fortunate that oral surgeon Dr. Mark Waller instructed him on complicated tooth extractions, thus advancing his knowledge of oral surgery. Dr. Whitfield opened his private dental practice in 1991. He was blessed with the ability to connect with people from all walks of life, which became a great asset in growing a successful dental practice.
After reading an article in Dental Practice Management, Dr. Whitfield implemented the “Win-Win” strategy by bringing other dentists into his practice to offer procedures to his patients. Patients loved staying in their “home office,” surrounded by the staff they trusted. It decreased patients’ stress levels, knowing Dr. Whitfield was nearby to answer any last-minute questions and make sure they got the treatment they needed. The combination of a great bedside manner and all-inclusive services “in-house” quickly led to over 4,000 patients.
Dr. Whitfield constantly advances his dental skills and knowledge. In 2008, he enrolled in the Misch International Implant Institute and completed both the Surgical and Prosthetics Implant Course totaling 175 hours.
After 24 years of private practice and having twins later in life, Dr. Whitfield realized he needed to balance his profession with his family life. He sold his dental practice in 2015. He obtained his IV dental sedation license in 2016 by completing Conscious Sedation Consulting, a comprehensive “mini-residency” with a minimum of 60 hours of didactic/classroom education and direct participation in administering IV sedation to 20-30 clinical dental cases while being observed. He received advanced training in airway management and medical emergencies, totalling approximately 100 hours. In early 2017, Dr. Whitfield gained his IV Portability by meeting all the state dental board’s requirements.
In March of 2016, Dr. Whitfield launched Dental Surgical Solutions. He shares his vision with dentists on how they can increase their business with IV sedation dentistry. Dr. Whitfield and his team operate with the highest level of integrity and are true professionals – they are committed to providing impeccable patient care.
Dr. Cal Martin
OrthodontistDr. Cal Martin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in 2011. Before dental school, Dr. Martin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. While working towards his BA, he spent a semester studying abroad in San Sebastian, Spain. Dr. Martin received his Master of Science degree and certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Oklahoma in 2013.
In 2015, Dr. Cal Martin became board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and regularly attends continuing education courses in order to remain up to date on the latest information in his field. In his spare time, Dr. Cal Martin enjoys golfing, traveling, snow skiing, and live music.
Dr. Alan Wong
General DentistDr. Alan Wong is our root canal provider here at Archstone Dental & Orthodontics Aledo.
Dr. Wong is a general dentist with broad experience managing complex root canal cases. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, and completed advanced post-graduate training in general dentistry at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Root canal therapy focuses on removing inflamed or infected nerve tissue to alleviate pain and protect the long-term health of the tooth. Dr. Wong utilizes contemporary techniques to provide comfortable, predictable care for patients suffering from toothaches and dental infections. Through extensive continuing education in endodontics and dental surgery, he stays current with evolving techniques and technologies, allowing him to consistently deliver effective, high-quality treatment.
