A beautiful smile, for most people, is the most obvious reason for orthodontics. After your braces are off, you will have more self-confidence. During your treatment, we would like you to be as comfortable as possible.
How Orthodontic Treatment Works
Orthodontic appliances can be made out of etal, ceramic, or plastic. Some forms are removable, and others brackets are bonded to the teeth. Braces work because they place a gentle force in a controlled direction. Now is a great time to wear braces! The days are gone where a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can often choose brackets that are clear or metallic, and somtimes you can even choose the ties that hold the wire in the brackets. Nowadays the wires are less visible, and the most up-to-date materials move teeth faster and more comfortably.
Duration of Treatment
Orthodontic treatment can last anywhere between one to three years, depending on the growth of the patients face. Patients are all different and will grow and respond to treatment very differently,, so treatment time will vary accordingly. The patient's effort in using any prescribed rubber bands or headgear is an important role in achieving the most efficient treatment. Interceptive or early treatment procedures can take as few as six months to complete.
